They were just processing that they just lost a comrade, and they get attacked by two of their comrades, Ranka and Tomuka, who were getting controlled by Sasori.

Luckily, Kankuro manages to pull Zaji away from the explosion but was unable to save Muto, who died from the explosion. By his side, Deidara, who had stuffed Muta’s jacket with his signature explosive clay, detonates it resulting in a big explosion.

As it turns out, It was a trap set up by Sasori, who was controlling Muta with his chakra threads. Zaji then finds injured Muta and rushes to help him and gets blindsided. Muta Aburame proves to be a hindrance in the Surprise Attack and Diversion Platoon’s way as he successfully hampers them with his Insect Jamming Technique. Meanwhile, Akatsuki's Surprise Attack and Diversion Platoon pursues the remaining members of the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Party. Omoi starts thinking what if they are attacked by their pursuers resulting in one of his classic overthinking sprees and getting lost in thoughts. The episode begins with Kankuro and Omoi in the frame, as members of the Infiltration and Reconnaissance Party.
